Job summary

Vivid Technology is recruiting a SATCOM Technical Support Engineer for its EMEA Technical Support team in Rotterdam. The role focuses on hands-on technical troubleshooting across SATCOM, VSAT and RF systems and direct customer interaction.

You will provide high-quality technical support to customers and partners across EMEA, taking ownership of cases from fault identification to resolution and supporting pre- and post-sales teams.

Qualifications

• Experience in SATCOM, VSAT, RF, marine electronics or similar technical environment.
• Strong practical understanding of electrical, mechanical and RF equipment.
• Experience troubleshooting technical systems and identifying root causes.
• Understanding of network infrastructure, modems, routers and IP communications.
• Experience using Spectrum Analysers, Multimeters and Oscilloscopes.
• Strong customer-facing and communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple technical cases and priorities.
• Excellent written and spoken English.
• Full driving licence.
• Willingness to undertake occasional travel.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical support across maritime VSAT, TVRO and L-band satellite systems.
• Troubleshoot RF, electrical, mechanical and network-related issues.
• Carry out structured fault analysis and drive technical cases through to resolution.
• Support customers remotely via telephone and email.
• Troubleshoot satellite antennas, modems, routers and associated communications equipment.
• Work with Spectrum Analysers, Multimeters, Oscilloscopes and other test equipment.
• Monitor and prioritise open technical cases and ensure customers are regularly updated.
• Escalate complex technical issues to Engineering and other internal teams where required.
• Maintain accurate technical information within the case management system.
• Support pre- and post-sales teams with technical enquiries.
• Provide feedback to Engineering on recurring product or technical issues.
• Occasionally attend customer sites across EMEA for technical support, training or development.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with experience across SATCOM, VSAT, RF, maritime communications or marine electronics who enjoys hands‑on technical troubleshooting and working directly with customers.

Experience specifically with the company's products is not required. Comprehensive product training will be provided, although candidates should have a strong technical foundation and willingness to learn.
