Job summary

Relevant Industrial is seeking an Inside Sales Representative to provide customer-focused technical expertise and product recommendations within the Instrumentation and Automation unit. This role handles inquiries, processes orders, and supports outside sales with professional service.

The ideal candidate will have extensive phone-based customer service, at least 4 years in industrial distribution or related fields, and strong MS Office skills.

Qualifications

• Extensive phone communication in a customer service environment.
• Minimum 4 years in industrial distribution, manufacturing, or fluid power.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• HS Diploma or GED required; further related education is a plus.
• Inside sales, purchasing, sourcing, or replenishment experience preferred.
• Strong written and verbal communication; team-oriented.
• Occasional warehouse backup for shipping/receiving.

Responsibilities

• Receive and process orders via telephone, email, and fax.
• Provide order status updates and pricing information.
• Offer technical specifications and recommendations to ensure customer satisfaction.
• Develop and maintain professional relationships with vendors to meet customer needs.
• Provide counter/will-call sales support for walk-in customers (location specific).
• Handle light shipping and receiving as needed where applicable (location specific).
• Enter and manage customer orders, quotes, returns, and credits.
• Research item availability and coordinate replenishment part orders.
• Maintain accurate records of customer interactions and transactions.
