Job summary

Supermicro is seeking a motivated Software Engineer to support validation, deployment, and technical support for strategic customers. You will perform system-level testing, troubleshoot complex server environments, and develop automation scripts while collaborating with customers and cross-functional teams in a fast-paced setting.

The position can be based in the Netherlands or the UK, with travel to customer sites as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field.
• 1+ years of experience in software engineering, systems deployment, automation, or technical support, preferably with data center or server industry experience.
• Proven experience in data center operations, server deployment, and troubleshooting.
• Strong scripting skills (Python, Bash, or PowerShell).
• Solid understanding of networking, server hardware, virtualization, and operating systems (Linux/Windows).
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities under pressure.
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including occasional weekends or on-call support.
• Ability to travel for on-site customer support when required.
• Experience with on-site deployment support or customer data center environments is highly desirable.
• Solid understanding of validation methodologies, test planning, and defect tracking processes.
• Excellent communication, documentation, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Perform system-level software validation, deployment, and testing for strategic customers.
• Provide technical support to resolve issues via root cause analysis.
• Support on-site deployment and validation at customer data centers, including travel.
• Lead or participate in failure analysis and prepare 8D reports documenting root causes.
• Create and maintain test plans, deployment procedures, automation scripts, and reports.
• Participate in customer and internal issue review meetings with technical updates.
• Collaborate with global teams to ensure continuous coverage across time zones.
• Identify improvements to deployment processes and improve efficiency.
