We are looking for an experienced Structural Engineer to provide structural engineering expertise across technically complex offshore and marine projects.
In this role, you will be responsible for performing and reviewing structural calculations, developing engineering solutions, and ensuring structures and lifting activities are safe, practical, and compliant with relevant offshore standards. You will work closely with project, operations, and engineering teams throughout the project lifecycle, from concept and pre-engineering through to offshore execution.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform structural calculations and engineering assessments for offshore and marine projects
- Develop and review structural drawings, deck layouts, lifting plans, calculations, and technical reports
- Carry out structural checks for heavy lifting operations, including load assessments, deck capacity, structural capacity, and lifting arrangements
- Identify structural deficiencies, risks, or weaknesses and develop practical engineering solutions
- Support concept development, pre-engineering, detailed engineering, and engineering change requests
- Provide structural engineering support for offshore installation, transportation, marine operations, and vessel activities
- Review engineering documentation and technical deliverables produced by internal teams and external engineering partners
- Ensure structural designs and lifting activities comply with applicable offshore/marine safety regulations, classification requirements, engineering codes, and company standards
- Participate in site visits, vessel inspections, offshore activities, and operational tests when required
- Provide technical guidance and support to engineers and other project team members
- Promote high standards of safety, quality, and environmental performance throughout all engineering activities
Your Profile
- Bachelor's degree in Structural Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Naval Architecture, Civil Engineering, or a related engineering discipline
- Minimum 5 years of experience within offshore, marine, oil & gas, or other relevant engineering environments
- At least 3 years of hands-on structural engineering experience
- Strong experience performing structural calculations and engineering assessments rather than only coordinating engineering activities
- Experience developing and reviewing structural drawings, deck layouts, lifting plans, and technical reports
- Strong understanding of heavy lifting and lifting planning, including loads, structural/deck capacity, and lifting arrangements
- Experience with offshore structures such as topsides, jackets, platforms, vessels, support frames, or similar structures
- Understanding of marine operations, offshore construction, transportation, and vessel-related engineering activities
- Knowledge of relevant classification requirements, offshore/marine regulations, and structural engineering standards
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and structural calculation or analysis software such as SACS, ANSYS, STAAD.Pro, FEM software, or similar tools
- Willingness to travel offshore and to project sites when required
- Fluent in English, both written and spoken
