Job summary

Nearfield Instruments, a fast-growing high-tech scale-up, seeks a strategic supply chain manager to optimize our electronics and mechanics supply chains. You will lead transformations from single-module procurement to integrated modules, ensuring capacity meets demand while driving cost-down initiatives.

You will collaborate across Development & Engineering and with key suppliers, balancing short-term pressures with long-term strategic goals to support our world-class metrology systems.

Qualifications

• BSc or MSc in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Applied Physics, or another relevant subject.
• Demonstrable experience (around 10 years) in supply chain management of high-tech or complex systems.
• Excellent command of English, both spoken and written.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate the transformation from procuring single-purpose modules to larger integrated modules with System Integration to enable ramp-up of production.
• Build and maintain strategic partnerships with suppliers of critical components and integrated modules, aligning specs and establishing cost-down roadmaps.
• Regularly evaluate supplier performance to improve quality, delivery, costs, and risk management in collaboration with internal stakeholders.
• Work with Development & Engineering to align supply chain feasibility with release-for-volume needs and identify cost-saving component substitutions.
• Manage risks in the strategic supply chain by leveraging buying power and dependencies.
