Job summary

APG is seeking a Business Data Analyst Governance & Architecture to bridge business requirements with data solutions within the Data Office. You’ll help ensure data accessibility, governance frameworks, and standardized data delivery for multiple asset classes.

You will collaborate with CIO-CMI, CIO-PMI and COO to build a shared Data Platform, enabling faster, simpler data compute, transform and consumption across teams, with a focus on high-quality data products and governance.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience as a Business Analyst or Data Analyst.
• Degree in econometrics / mathematics / data science / economics or a related field (advanced degrees or CFA are a plus).
• Advises and acts as sparring partner to senior management on features.
• Experience with SCRUM/Agile methodologies in enterprise-level projects.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and synthesizing skills.
• Experience in the financial industry, ideally asset management.
• Strong English communication skills.
• Flexible, resilient team player with initiative and ability to work across multinational teams.

Responsibilities

• Understand and document data requirements.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather, define, and document data needs via data flow diagrams.
• Translate business needs into structured data requirements for Data teams to deliver data products.
• Identify data gaps and propose solutions with business and data teams.
• Provide SME support for strategic initiatives around tooling, solutions and data within Data Office.
• Communicate data concepts and solutions effectively to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Act as the linking pin between Business and IT.
• Understand ingested data, metrics, data models, and design robust ETL/ELT pipelines with data engineers.
• Help business teams find and retrieve relevant data and data products and ensure compliance with policies.
• Support data governance initiatives with data modelers and architects as a central data steward.
• Help define and implement data quality standards and guidelines based on business requirements.
• Align data products with business needs and drive standardization across teams.
• Support the design of physical, logical and conceptual data models.
