European Climate Foundation seeks a strategic Chief Financial Officer to oversee financial health, governance, and a robust control environment. You will lead Financial Grants Management, Accounting, and Financial Controlling, with procurement and legal support, as part of the Management Team.

The role requires 15+ years in senior financial management within a foundation or non-profit, with strong leadership and global regulatory experience.

Qualifications

• 15+ years in senior financial management with CFO experience.
• Proven leadership building and scaling high-performing teams.
• Experience with foundation fund accounting and regulatory compliance.
• Fluent in English; Dutch language a plus.

Responsibilities

• Oversee Finance, Accounting, and Financial Controlling departments.
• Lead budgeting, forecasting, cash management and treasury.
• Ensure compliant financial reporting to funders and authorities.
• Drive financial strategy and long-term planning with the Management Team.
• Implement robust internal controls and risk mitigation.
• Mentor and scale a high-performing finance team.
