Vacaturebank, on behalf of a partner company, seeks a Staff AI Engineer, Payments Intelligence based in the Netherlands to lead architecture and delivery of AI systems for a global payments platform. You’ll design production-grade AI agents, LLM pipelines, and intelligence products, mentor engineers, and drive cross-functional initiatives.

Qualifications

• Extensive software engineering experience with production LLM or AI-agent systems.

Responsibilities

• Lead architecture and technical direction of AI agents and Payments Intelligence systems across global platforms.
• Design, develop, and productionize reliable, low-latency AI solutions.
• Build multilingual conversational experiences across channels.
• Develop AI solutions that retrieve payment information and generate merchant insights.
• Establish AI evaluation, observability, and guardrails for compliance-sensitive environments.
• Collaborate with Product, Data Science, and senior engineering teams.
• Mentor engineers and raise engineering standards.
• Own outcomes from architecture to production deployment.
