Job summary

Cognizant is seeking a Sr Cloud Architect to design secure, scalable GCP-based solutions for banking clients with a hybrid work model. You will define cloud foundations, modernize applications, and establish best practices to deliver compliant, cost-efficient platforms.

You will collaborate with architecture teams across Azure, AWS and on-prem environments, driving security, reliability and maintainability while promoting higher-level solutions like containers.

Qualifications

• Experience designing secure, scalable cloud architectures for financial services.
• Experience establishing best practices with Cloud Foundation Toolkit.
• Certification: Professional Cloud Architect (GCP) or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Design VM services across Azure, AWS and on‑prem environments.

Job Summary

Sr Cloud Architect role for a global organization focused on designing secure scalable and resilient solutions on GCP for retail banking clients with a hybrid work model and day shifts The role involves defining cloud foundations modernizing applications and establishing best practices using Cloud Foundation Toolkit to deliver compliant and cost efficient platforms that support critical banking services

Responsibilities

• Designing and standardizing VM services across Azure AWS and on premises environments
• Ensuring security and compliance for these services
• Embedding VM services within the banks broader technology ecosystem
• Optimizing for cost efficiency and operational excellence
• Promoting solutions higher in the stack like containers thus gradually limiting the footprint of virtual machines
• You will collaborate closely with other Solution Architects in the area each with their own infrastructure expertise
• Together you form the backbone of client technology strategy

Top responsibilities

Architectural Leadership

• Define and evolve the architecture of the Virtual Machine platform
• Ensure scalability security reliability and maintainability of the platform
• Align platform architecture with enterprise standards and cloud best practices

Cross Platform Collaboration

• Codevelop common guardrails standards and integration patterns with other compute and infrastructure architects
• Promote interoperability and consistency across VM environments Azure AWS on premises
• Share learnings and innovations across platform teams

Team Leadership

• Co lead the VM platform team with the Product Owner and Tech Lead
• Guide engineers in implementing architectural decisions and platform capabilities
• Foster a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence

Stakeholder Engagement

• Collaborate with security compute storage networking and application teams to ensure platform alignment with organizational needs
• Communicate architectural vision and roadmap to stakeholders and leadership

Certifications Required

• Professional Cloud Architect GCP or equivalent cloud architect certification relevant to designing and operating solutions on GCP
