Job summary

European Space Agency (ESA) is seeking a Power Management Engineer within the Power Management and Distribution Section of the Electrical Department. The role focuses on power system design, energy budgeting, power conditioning and distribution for space missions, with hands-on hardware and experience in procurement and project support.

The selected candidate will work under the Directorate of Technology, Engineering and Quality, contributing to laboratory activities and cutting-edge power

Qualifications

  • Master's degree in electrical engineering (or similar) with about 5 years of relevant professional experience.
  • Experience on power systems at early phase space missions and use of relevant tools.
  • Knowledge of power electronics design, control and verification.
  • Experience in procurement activities for technology development and innovation.

Responsibilities

  • Provide expert technical support and consultancy in power management and distribution for ESA projects.
  • Participate in feasibility studies, project reviews and procurement evaluations.
  • Define and manage R&D activities for long- and short-term needs.
  • Contribute to system architectures and new application areas for space power systems.
  • Engage in laboratory activities and monitor technological trends.
