Job summary

Qabird seeks an EMC Engineer to support ESA’s Power Systems, EMC and Space Environment services at ESTEC in Noordwijk, the Netherlands. The role focuses on defining EMC requirements, analyses and testing for spacecraft equipment, and contributing to PDR/CDR/FAR reviews on complex space hardware.

The successful candidate will have a PhD or MSc in physics or electrical engineering, with extensive EMC experience, and fluency in English.

Qualifications

• PhD or master’s degree in physics and/or Electrical Engineering with minimum 4 years of relevant experience.
• Demonstrated knowledge of EMC requirements and testing practices.
• Experience in analysing EMC data and addressing waivers.
• Ability to work autonomously and in international teams.

Responsibilities

• Define and assess EMC requirements at system and equipment level.
• Perform electromagnetic and circuit analyses and verification.
• Define and assess EMC test procedures for spacecraft equipment and systems.
• Assess EMC test data, non-conformances and Waivers requests.
• Troubleshoot spacecraft equipment with EMI issues; support design reviews (PDR/CDR/FAR).
