Job summary

ATG Europe is seeking a Design & Manufacturing Development Engineer for its CompositesLab at Noordwijk, NL. You will join a multi-disciplinary team working on advanced CFRP lattice structures for space applications, interfacing with suppliers and customers across Europe.

The role emphasizes autonomous work, strong CAD/FE skills, and willingness to travel. Fluency in English required; other languages advantageous.

Qualifications

MSc in engineering (aerospace or mechanical) required.
Minimum 5 years of relevant work experience.
Ability to work autonomously across multiple disciplines.
Affinity with fibre-reinforced composite materials and structures.
Experience with manufacturing methods for composites and metals.
Experience with MAIT processes for large composite structures is advantageous.
Experience with interfacing external suppliers and manufacturers.
Experience with CAD software (CATIA V5).
Knowledge of tooling design methods.
Experience with FE modelling/analysis (composites) is advantageous.
Basic programming skills (Python).
Experience with ECSS or similar standards is advantageous.
Well organized and capable of handling peaks in workload.
Willing to travel for work.
Fluency in English (additional languages advantageous).

Responsibilities

Top level design and system engineering on the composite technologies and products.
CAD modelling and design.
Design for manufacturing activities.
Developing and implementing manufacturing processes for composite lattice structures.
Developing assembly and integration processes for large spacecraft components.
Developing and managing the supply chain including QA support.
Developing inspection and repair processes for composite lattice structures.
Supporting or partaking in manufacturing and testing of components.
Supporting development of design, analysis, and optimisation procedures.
FE modelling, analysis and optimisation.
Reporting and documentation.
Interfacing with customers as part of projects or business development.
