Job summary

Restaurant Mont Blanc in Amsterdam is seeking a passionate Sommelier to join our team. You will guide guests through a curated wine journey and craft thoughtful pairings to accompany our tasting menus.

With a focus on Savoie and Jura wines, you will manage the wine cellar and collaborate closely with the chef and international team, contributing to a distinctive Alpine-inspired dining experience in the heart of Amsterdam.

Qualifications

• Wine knowledge and passion for diverse regions; strong knowledge of wine is essential.
• Excellent English communication; French or Dutch is a plus.
• Independent, organized and able to work in a small team.
• Ambitious, creative and with an eye for detail.

Responsibilities

• Guide guests through their gastronomic journey with warm, professional service.
• Create thoughtful wine pairings that complement tasting menus.

Restaurant Mont Blanc is looking for a passionate and knowledgeable Sommelier to join our team in Amsterdam.

Inspired by the French Alps, Restaurant Mont Blanc offers a refined gastronomic experience where seasonal ingredients, creativity and precision come together. Our wine philosophy is deeply rooted in the Savoie and Jura regions, showcasing distinctive winemakers, exceptional terroirs and carefully selected bottles from beyond the Alps.

We are a small, dedicated team where hospitality, attention to detail and genuine passion for food and wine are at the heart of everything we do.

Your role

• Guide our guests through their gastronomic journey with warm, professional and personal service.
• Create thoughtful wine pairings that complement our tasting menus.
• Share your knowledge and passion for wines, particularly from Savoie, Jura and other French wine regions.
• Manage and develop our wine cellar, inventory and wine list.
• Work closely with our chef and service team to create a seamless dining experience.
• Contribute to the continuous development of our wine programme.

Who are we looking for?

• Previous experience as a Sommelier in a fine dining or gastronomic restaurant.
• Strong wine knowledge and genuine curiosity for lesser-known regions and producers.
• Excellent communication skills in English; French or Dutch is a plus.
• A warm, confident and attentive approach to hospitality.
• Someone who is independent, organised and comfortable working in a small team.
• A team player with ambition, creativity and an eye for detail.
