You will guide a team of senior engineers, shape the product direction with Product and Delivery, and foster a strong, collaborative engineering culture while delivering high-quality software at pace.

Qualifications

• Several years of experience as a software engineer with a strong full-stack background.
• Excellent TypeScript skills with React and PostgreSQL.
• Experience acting as a technical lead or owning engineering direction.
• Strong architectural judgement and production systems experience.
• Ability to mentor and develop engineers.
• Excellent communication and decision-explanation skills.

We are client of ours in the FinTech domain we are looking for an experienced Engineering Lead who enjoys combining technical leadership with hands-on development. You will be the senior technical point of contact for a team of experienced engineers and help shape both the product and the way engineering operates.

This is a role for someone who wants to stay close to the technology. You won't be managing from the sidelines, but you'll be staying involved in the code, architecture and making key technical decisions while helping the team grow.

What you will be doing

• Set the technical direction and make key engineering decisions.
• Guide and support a team of senior engineers.
• Stay hands-on with the codebase and contribute to development on a weekly basis.
• Improve engineering quality, development processes and technical standards.
• Review and challenge technical solutions and architectural choices.
• Coach engineers through regular feedback, 1:1s and development conversations.
• Work closely with Product and Delivery to turn business needs into realistic technical solutions.
• Help build a strong, collaborative engineering team.

What you will bring

• Several years of experience as a software engineer, with a strong full-stack background.
• Excellent TypeScript skills and solid experience with React and PostgreSQL.
• Experience acting as a technical lead or taking ownership of engineering direction.
• Strong architectural judgement and experience working with production systems.
• The ability to challenge, mentor and develop experienced engineers.
• A pragmatic mindset: you know when to keep things simple and when to go deeper.
• Strong communication skills and the confidence to make and explain technical decisions.
• Experience managing people is a plus, but technical leadership is the priority.
