Sytac is seeking a Senior Java Engineer to join our team on an exciting project for a client in the finance and banking sector, building the next generation of their frontend delivery service.

We are a multi-disciplinary team realising the core platform, migrating the Frontend controller to Java, and delivering a high-performing, scalable solution using a modern tech stack across the globe.

Qualifications

• Strong production experience with Java 21+ and Spring Boot.
• Experience with microservices and Kafka.
• Experience with DevOps and cloud pipelines.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end development—from refinement to production monitoring, while participating in 24/7 on-call rotation (every 4–8 weeks) and incident management.
• Drive backend delivery excellence, contribute to technical design decisions, maintain risk/security documentation, and automate and scale global platforms.
• Act as a Security Champion for your squad, participating in code reviews and driving operational risk prevention.
• Mentor engineers and share knowledge to grow the squad.
• Collaborate with international architects, engineers, and stakeholders to roll out core solutions globally and contribute to a realistic squad roadmap.
• Transfer expertise through presentations, documentation, and setting high engineering standards in a safe, collaborative Agile environment.

Sytac is looking for a Senior Java Engineer to join our team on an exciting project for our client in the finance and banking sector, building the next generation of their frontend delivery service. We are looking for an engineer with modern engineering skills, passionate about innovation, creativity, attention to detail, and strong communication skills.

The team

We are a multi-disciplinary team responsible for realising the core platform, focusing on improving the way code is integrated and deployed from concept to production. Currently, the team is working on a global platform for building and providing WebComponents, with an immediate focus on migrating the Frontend controller to Java. Our aim is to provide a better experience for engineers and deliver a high-performing, scalable, fast solution using the latest tech stack globally.

Roles and responsibilities

Technical & Operational Execution

• Full-Lifecycle Engineering: Lead end-to-end development—from refinement to production monitoring—while participating in 24/7 on-call rotation (every 4–8 weeks) and support/incident management.
• Architecture & Delivery: Drive backend delivery excellence, contribute to technical design decisions, maintain risk/security documentation, and leverage modern engineering standards to automate and scale global platforms.

• Mentorship & Mastery: Support fellow engineers through feedback and knowledge sharing, helping squad members grow through diverse perspectives.

How to succeed

• Core Technical Stack: Strong production experience with Java 21+, Spring Boot, Microservices, and event-driven architecture using Kafka.
• DevOps & Infrastructure: Hands-on with Azure DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, containerized environments (Kubernetes/OpenShift), ElasticSearch/Kibana, and SQL/NoSQL databases.
• Engineering Mindset: Proactive ownership ("you build it, you own it"), passion for test automation (Gatling, unit/integration testing), robust application security (TLS, PKI), and continuous delivery.
• Collaboration & Impact: A curious, Agile-minded team player with excellent communication skills who thrives on sharing knowledge and collaborating with global stakeholders.
