TomTom in Amsterdam invites a Software Engineering Intern to join the Internal Developer Platform team on Platform Engineering. You’ll work on Frontstage with TypeScript/React and extend Watchtower backend, with mentorship and ownership of a small project.

You’ll participate in the full development cycle, from understanding user needs to design, build, test and release, using agile practices and code reviews.

Competenze

• Must be enrolled in a Dutch university until at least September 2027.
• Located in Amsterdam or nearby to commute to the office at least twice a week.
• Strong TypeScript/JavaScript skills.
• Experience building web apps with React or Node.js.
• Basic knowledge of SQL and databases.
• Nice to have Backstage, Docker, GitHub Actions or a cloud platform.
• Solid Computer Science fundamentals.
• Comfortable with written and/or verbal English communication.

What you'll need:

• Being located in Amsterdam or cities close by to be able to commute to the office at least twice a week
• Good TypeScript or JavaScript skills
• Some experience building web applications, for example with React or Node.js
• Basic knowledge of SQL and databases
• Nice to have: experience with Backstage, Docker, GitHub Actions or a cloud platform (Azure, AWS or GCP)
• Solid Computer Science fundamentals
• Comfortable with written and/or verbal communication in English
• Interest in building tools that make other engineers' lives easier, and eager to learn
