TomTom in Amsterdam offers an internship where you will join a friendly team of engineers and work on real projects. You will build pages and scorecards in Frontstage using React and TypeScript, while also extending the Watchtower backend with new data sources and APIs.

You’ll participate in full development cycles, with mentorship and agile practices, to deliver features that matter to users. You’ll gain hands-on experience with Kubernetes-related cost features, Backstage, and modern tooling

Formación

• Currently enrolled at a Dutch university until at least September 2027.
• Located in Amsterdam or nearby for commuting at least twice a week.
• Available for at least 32 hours per week.
• Some experience building web applications (React or Node.js).
• Basic knowledge of SQL and databases.
• Nice to have: Backstage, Docker, GitHub Actions or a cloud platform (Azure, AWS or GCP).
• Solid computer science fundamentals.
• Comfortable with English communication.
• Eager to learn and build tools that help engineers.

Responsabilidades

• Work on features that matter to our users, for example showing teams what their services cost on our Kubernetes platform
• Help keep Frontstage up to date with new Backstage releases
• Participate in the full cycle: understanding what users need, designing a solution, building, testing and releasing it
• Build iteratively using agile methodologies, with your code reviewed by the team

What you'd need:

• Being enrolled in a Dutch university until at least September 2027, so the entire duration of the internship
• Being located in Amsterdam or cities close by to be able to commute to the office at least twice a week
• Available for at least 32h/week
• Some experience building web applications, for example with React or Node.js
• Basic knowledge of SQL and databases
• Nice to have: experience with Backstage, Docker, GitHub Actions or a cloud platform (Azure, AWS or GCP)
• Solid Computer Science fundamentals
• Comfortable with written and/or verbal communication in English
• Interest in building tools that make other engineers' lives easier, and eager to learn
