Job summary

Stryker in Amsterdam is seeking a Senior VAT Analyst to oversee VAT compliance across Europe, Africa, and the Middle East. You will manage end-to-end VAT processes, prepare returns, support audits, and resolve inquiries from tax authorities, leveraging multiple ERP systems and automation tools.

The role emphasizes data quality, process improvement, and collaboration with IT and finance teams to implement VAT solutions, ensure accuracy, and maintain audit readiness across regions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Finance/Taxation or related field.
• Minimum of 5 years VAT compliance experience in multinational environment across Europe, Africa, and the Middle East.
• Proficiency with VAT reporting tools and experience with SQL, Alteryx, and RPA to support data workflows.
• Demonstrated experience managing VAT audits and responding to tax authorities.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and file VAT returns accurately and on time for Europe, Eastern Europe, Africa, and the Middle East.
• Review and validate data from multiple ERPs (>200K transactions/month) for VAT reporting.
• Support design and implementation of new VAT registrations.
• Analyze supply chain flows for VAT implications and proper documentation.
• Conduct VAT GL reconciliations and address aged items promptly.
• Identify process improvements using SQL, Alteryx, and RPA to automate reporting.
• Collaborate with IT and tax-technology teams to enhance systems.
• Manage a portfolio of up to 10 ERPs and support new ERP implementations.
