Huisman in Schiedam is seeking a Senior Structural Engineer to drive innovation within our international team. You will work on heavy mechanical systems, from concept through production, with in-house design and turnkey delivery to clients worldwide.

The role emphasizes collaboration across disciplines, strong emphasis on material efficiency, and opportunities for personal development and growth into an all-round senior engineer. English proficiency and EU work eligibility are required.

• FEM modelling and structural calculations for heavy (offshore) systems.
• Strong communication within multidisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

• defining and safeguarding design assumptions for complex mechanical projects.
• performing FEM modelling and structural calculations for heavy (offshore) systems.
• specifying requirements for purchased components.
• optimising designs with a focus on material efficiency, dimensions and weight, functional lifetime and maintenance.
• supervising and guiding the work of fellow structural engineers.
