Job summary

Van Storm Recruitment in the Rotterdam area seeks a Senior Structural Engineer to lead hull structure concept and basic designs for complex maritime projects. You will translate client requirements into structural specifications and design solutions, and generate key drawings for construction, modification, and integration.

You will coordinate interfaces across disciplines and suppliers, ensuring feasible, buildable designs that respect budget and quality.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Maritime Engineering or Structural Engineering.
• 8+ years of relevant experience with concept and basic design.
• Interest in submarines, offshore units, and special vessels.
• Strong communication skills and stakeholder alignment.
• Proactive mindset and willingness to innovate.

Responsibilities

• Develop hull structure concept and basic designs for complex maritime projects.
• Translate client requirements into structural specifications and design solutions.
• Produce and review key structural drawings, including construction, modification, and integration plans.
• Coordinate structural interfaces with other disciplines and external suppliers.
