Job summary

Huisman Equipment is seeking a Mechanical Engineer Design to join their team in Schiedam, Netherlands. You will be responsible for creating innovative designs for mechanical components and structures, ensuring they meet project specifications.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, 2–5 years of experience in relevant sectors, and strong communication skills in Dutch and English. The role offers opportunities for personal development and an excellent benefits package.

Qualifications

• 2–5 years of experience as a Mechanical Engineer within the offshore or maritime sector or in the heavy steel industry.
• Dutch and English both written and spoken on a professional level.
• The ability to prioritise in a technically challenging environment.

Responsibilities

• Independently developing and elaborating basic and detailed designs of steel structures, mechanical components, and mechanisms.
• Performing structural calculations and basic FEM analyses to support designs.
• Taking into account manufacturability, cost, material selection, production processes, and assembly.
