Van Storm Recruitment is seeking a Senior Structural Engineer to work on complex maritime projects and translate client requirements into robust structural concepts, specifications and budgets.

You will be responsible for hull structure concept and basic design, coordinating interfaces across disciplines and suppliers, and ensuring feasible, high-quality structural solutions across naval vessels, submarines, floating offshore energy, and special vessels.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Maritime Engineering, Structural Engineering, or similar.
• Minimum +8 years of relevant experience with concept and basic design.
• Interest in working across diverse projects (submarines, offshore units, special vessels).
• Strong communication skills and the ability to align stakeholders naturally.
• Proactive mindset: you keep up with innovations in your field and translate them into engineering improvements.
• Available for full-time in the Rotterdam area.
• Willingness to perform a background check.
• EU citizenship is a must, due to the nature of some military projects.

Responsabilités

• Develop hull structure concept and basic designs for complex maritime projects.
• Translate client requirements into structural specifications and design solutions.
• Produce and review key structural drawings, including construction, modification, and integration plans.
• Coordinate structural interfaces with other engineering disciplines and external suppliers.
• Ensure structural designs are feasible, buildable, and aligned with budget and quality requirements.
• Contribute to technical innovation and continuous improvement within structural engineering activities.
