Job summary

Van Storm in the Rotterdam area is seeking a Senior (Lead) Electrical Engineer to be at the technical heart of complex maritime projects, guiding electrical systems from concept to construction. You will combine hands-on engineering with technical leadership, multidisciplinary collaboration, and a drive to challenge the status quo.

Qualifications

• BSc/MSc in Electrical Engineering
• At least 7 years of relevant electrical engineering experience in shipbuilding or maritime industry
• Strong knowledge of concept and basic design
• Excellent communication skills in English

Responsibilities

• Design and develop electrical installations, drive systems, and onboard automation for complex maritime projects
• Perform and review electrical engineering calculations, designs, and documentation across concept to detailed design phases
• Collaborate with systems, mechanical, structural, naval architecture and other disciplines to ensure integrated vessel design
• Provide technical guidance and support to fellow engineers
• Contribute to technical innovation and development within electrical engineering
• Communicate with clients and classification societies to ensure good deliverables
• Write specifications for the yard and assist during construction phase
