Job summary

Alphatron Marine in Rotterdam seeks a Senior Software Developer to own product development projects and lead the software team. You will design, review, and implement complex shipboard software and collaborate with Service, Installation, Engineering and Marketing to translate customer requests into technical solutions.

You bring deep C/C++ and C# .NET expertise, strong design-pattern and SOLID knowledge, and experience with CI/CD, testing and performance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a technical or scientific field.
• At least 10 years of software development experience in C/C++.
• Deep knowledge of C# .NET (DI, Reflection, WPF, MVVM).
• Experience with design patterns, SOLID, and C APIs.
• Experience with CI/CD, Agile software development, unit testing, and performance.
• Excellent command of Dutch and English, both spoken and written.

Senior Software Developer Rotterdam | 40 hours | Product Development

What will you be doing?

As a Senior Software Developer, you are responsible for one or more product development projects and the associated software development. In this role, you guide the software team, conduct software reviews, and contribute to the architecture, design, and implementation of complex systems. You work closely with colleagues from other departments, such as Service, Installation, Engineering, and Marketing. You translate customer requests into technical solutions and actively share ideas for new products and product improvements.

You bring in-depth technical expertise and the ability to think creatively and abstractly to design software that is scalable, extensible, and maintainable, and that meets the high quality standards of our software ecosystem. In addition, we value soft skills for this role: strong communication skills, an understanding of stakeholder interests, coaching abilities, and leadership qualities.

What you bring:

• A completed Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a technical or scientific field
• At least 10 years of relevant work experience in software development using C and C++
• At least 5 years of experience in a senior role
• In-depth practical knowledge of C# .NET (Dependency Injection, Reflection, WPF, MVVM)
• In-depth practical knowledge of C and C++
• In-depth knowledge of design patterns, SOLID principles, and C APIs
• Experience with CI/CD, Agile software development, unit testing, and software performance
• Excellent command of Dutch and English, both spoken and written Strong communication skills and the ability to share knowledge and advocate for design decisions within the team

Pre’s
