Travel-loving, hands-on, customer-oriented, and proactive technician
Alphatron Marine supplies high-quality navigation and communication equipment for the maritime sector. As an Installation & Commissioning Engineer, you handle the installation and commissioning of this equipment on board ships and in the workshop. Before you leave for your job, the assignment will be discussed with you so that it is clear what is expected of you. You will get to work using the electrical drawings provided by the Engineering department. Connecting the cabling is a precise job. Naturally, you will receive thorough training for this from your colleagues. Administration is also part of your duties. You have a checklist that you carefully go through. You will visit all kinds of places on board a ship. Sometimes you work at height, and sometimes you work in a confined space. So, plenty of variety! For large projects, you report to and from the client's contact person. One time you work on a ship under construction, and the next you work on an existing ship. You continuously expand your experience. And you follow product-oriented training courses with us. Eventually, you become a specialist in your field.
We work internationally. You can be deployed all over the world. Think, for example, of Singapore, Romania, China, the Middle East, Germany, but you also carry out your assignments in the Netherlands. You spend approximately 10 weeks a year abroad. Usually, you are away from home for 1 to 2 weeks, sometimes a little longer. You love to travel and can manage well on your own, wherever you end up.
