Job summary

Alphatron Marine in Rotterdam is seeking a Sales Engineer with a technical IT background and an enterprising attitude to join a professional team. You will translate inquiries into technical and commercial proposals for IT and onboard systems on ships and work closely with sales colleagues and field engineers.

This role requires you to gather information, translate it into clear quotations, advise clients by email or phone, and prepare proposals with the Sales Manager.

Alphatron Marine is an importer, supplier, installer, and service provider of high-quality navigation and communication equipment. You will work at the head office in Rotterdam – one of the leading locations for world maritime business.

What are you going to do?

You translate customer inquiries into technical and commercial proposals for IT and communication systems on board ships—such as IP camera systems (CCTV), satellite communications, and entertainment systems. You immerse yourself fully in the technical details of your field. You work closely with a great team of sales colleagues and field engineers. You excel at gathering information and translating relevant facts into answers for the customer. You advise clients via email or phone and prepare clear proposals in consultation with the Sales Manager. You are an expert at managing customer expectations. In short: you ensure everything is spot-on from the start, allowing our projects to get off to a smooth start.

• MBO level and a good and relevant experience with technology;

• Affinity for maritime engineering and systems;

• Experience in an internal sales role is an asset; Strong ability to translate customer information into clear quotations;

• You work accurately, think in terms of solutions, and are customer-oriented;

• Good command of both Dutch and English.

As a Sales Engineer, you have a dynamic job and you have to cooperate with many different parties.
