We are seeking an experienced and customer-focused Senior Service Engineer to lead the support and maintenance of our advanced industrial printing systems. In this role, you will independently manage complex installations, system commissioning, advanced troubleshooting, and high-level service activities at customer sites and within our organization.

As a senior team member, you act as a technical authority and trusted advisor, serving as a key interface between customers, production, and engineering teams. You proactively identify recurring issues, drive continuous improvement, and contribute to product and service enhancements. This role combines deep technical expertise, ownership of critical customer escalations, and strong communication skills in a dynamic environment with both on-site and remote support responsibilities.

  • Installation & Commissioning: Lead complex installations and commissioning activities, take technical ownership of system performance, and support pre‑installation planning and system architecture validation.
  • Technical Support & Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve mechanical, electrical, and software issues both remotely and on-site; provide timely and effective solutions to minimize downtime.
Act as escalation point for complex and non‑standard issues; perform root cause analysis and define structural corrective actions across mechanical, electrical, and software domains.
  • Maintenance & Service: Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on installed systems; proactively improve system reliability and uptime based on field data.
  • Customer Interaction: Serve as a trusted technical advisor for customers; manage high‑impact customer interactions, expectations, and critical incidents.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with engineering, production, and supply chain teams to elevate issues, provide feedback, and improve product reliability.
  • Documentation & Reporting: Maintain accurate service reports, installation records, and technical documentation; contribute to knowledge base and improve service procedures.
  • Continuous Improvement: Identify recurring issues and propose improvements to system design, service processes, and reliability.
  • On-Site Support & Travel: Willingness to travel internationally within Europe to support installations and service activities at customer locations.
What You’ll Bring
  • Bachelor in Mechatronics, Electronics, Mechanical Engineering, or related field experience.
  • 8+ years of experience in service engineering, field support, including complex system troubleshooting and customer-facing responsibility.
  • Expert troubleshooting skills with a system-level view, strong root cause analysis capabilities, and the ability to manage highly complex failures.
  • Hands‑on mentality with a structured and analytical approach.
  • Customer‑focused mindset with excellent communication skills.
  • Proven ability to set priorities, make technical decisions independently, and guide others in complex environments.

Bonus Qualifications:

  • Experience with laser‑based systems or opto‑mechanical equipment.
  • Knowledge of automation and control systems (PLC, motion control, PC‑based systems).
  • Familiarity with high‑precision manufacturing environments.
  • Experience with international field‑service and customer support.
