Job summary

Johnson & Johnson Leiden site seeks an experienced Occupational Safety and Process Safety professional to co-lead and strengthen safety management across laboratories, production areas, engineering environments, and capital projects. You will ensure regulatory compliance, lead risk assessments and incident investigations, train staff, and influence stakeholders to embed a strong safety culture.

HVK qualification or equivalent and 7 years of biotech/pharma safety experience are required; Dutch

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Safety Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related field; master's preferred.
• HVK qualification or equivalent senior safety qualification required.
• Minimum 7 years' experience in occupational and process safety in biotech/pharma/manufacturing.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and maintain safety programs across labs, production, and engineering.
• Lead process hazard analyses and management of change activities.
• Conduct risk assessments and translate findings into controls.
• Strengthen safe-work systems (permit to work, lockout/tagout, energy control).
• Lead or support investigations and corrective actions.
• Ensure compliance with ISO 45001 and international safety standards.
• Prepare internal and external safety audits and regulatory inspections.
• Design and deliver safety training for operators, engineers, and contractors.
• Advise on safety during design, commissioning, and change-control activities.
• Coach teams to foster ownership and proactive safety culture.
