Job summary

Johnson & Johnson Leiden is seeking a Staff EHS Engineer - Biosafety Officer to co-develop and implement biosafety policies and programs, ensuring safe handling of biological materials and leading EHS initiatives across the organization.

This role requires deep biosafety knowledge, regulatory acumen, and the ability to collaborate with researchers, operations and partners while upholding ISO 14001 standards and local regulations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Biology or relevant field; Master’s preferred.
• Minimum of 5 years of Biosafety, EHS, or bioscience lab/production experience.
• Certified Biosafety Officer registered at BGGO.
• Fluent Dutch and English preferred.

Responsibilities

• Co-develop, implement, and maintain the biosafety management program.
• Conduct risk assessments and develop biosafety protocols for handling biological materials.
• Implement training programs on biosafety practices and procedures.
• Lead EHS standards, audits, inspections and corrective actions.
• Collaborate with researchers, laboratories, operations and partners to foster safety.
