Job summary

Johnson & Johnson Leiden site seeks an experienced Occupational Safety and Process Safety professional to strengthen safety management across laboratories, production, and engineering. You will co-lead PSM activities, manage change, and ensure strong risk controls in a biotech environment.

The candidate combines technical safety expertise with operational experience, influencing stakeholders. HVK or equivalent senior qualification is required, with 7+ years in a biotech/ pharma setting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Safety Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, Biology, or related field; Master’s preferred.
• HVK qualification or equivalent senior safety qualification is required.
• Minimum 7 years of progressive experience in occupational safety and process safety in biotech, pharma, chemical, or high-hazard environments.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain occupational safety and process safety programs across lab, production, and engineering areas.
• Coordinate process hazard analyses, PSM activities, and management of change.
• Conduct risk assessments and implement effective controls.
• Strengthen safe-work systems: permits, confined space, hot work, lockout/tagout, contractor safety, and energy isolation.
• Lead or support incident investigations and root-cause analyses.
