Job summary

United States Digital Space LLC in Amsterdam is seeking a Software Engineer for the Foundation team. You will design, develop, and maintain high-reliability, low-latency systems that power our trading infrastructure, with a focus on Rust and performance.

You will collaborate across teams, ingest and organize data from exchanges, contribute to real-time data pipelines, and own projects end-to-end in a fast-paced, autonomy-driven environment.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience as a Software Engineer, with a strong focus on systems-level optimisation and awareness of hardware constraints
• Proficiency in Rust (or C/C++ with the willingness to work primarily in Rust)
• Relevant domain experience: trading data infrastructure such as Postgres, ClickHouse, Kafka, Redpanda, Iceberg, and/or NATS
• Solid understanding of distributed systems
• Strong problem-solving skills and a very strong sense of end-to-end ownership
• Bonus points for familiarity with Grafana, WebSockets, compiler engineering, embedded programming, or systems security

Responsibilities

• Build & optimise: design, develop, and maintain high-reliability, low-latency foundational systems for trading and technology teams
• Ingest & aggregate: collect trading data with minimal latency and ingest public/private exchange information
• Store & stream: develop and maintain real-time data aggregation and long-term storage, plus Kafka-based messaging systems
• Collaborate & support: work with multiple teams to integrate with foundational systems
• Innovate: drive projects from concept to deployment with full ownership and explore new tools and approaches
