Job summary

ChannelEngine is seeking a Senior Product Owner to own the marketplaces domain, guiding backlog refinement and the translation of complex requirements into actionable designs. You’ll drive key capabilities and AI enhancements while supporting the team through each sprint and coordinating with stakeholders across Engineering, UX, and Customer Success.

You’ll collaborate with Delivery and commercial teams to align priorities, strengthen ways of working, and foster a mature, collaborative product

Qualifications

• At least 7 years’ experience as an Product Owner, IT Business Analyst or Project Manager within B2B SaaS development,
• Strong product ownership fundamentals: proven ability to balance strategic thinking with hands-on execution,
• Experience conducting customer discovery and validating problems before building solutions,
• Technical depth in software development, APIs, integrations, and/or platform architecture,
• Track record of defining success metrics and using data to inform product decisions,
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills across technical and business audiences,
• Living within commuting distance of Leiden.

Job description

We’re looking for a Senior Product Owner to help shape one of the most important part of the platform, Channels: adding new marketplaces, ensuring they are maintainable, scalable, and easy to integrate, while maintaining existing Channels. The role will turn customer, marketplace and business needs into a clear product strategy and roadmap, aligning priorities and dependencies across teams around measurable merchant outcomes.

What will you do as a Senior Product Owner?

As a Product Owner, you’ll take full ownership of the marketplaces domain, working closely with the development team to refine and prioritise the backlog, shape business epics and stories, and translate complex requirements into clear, functional designs. You’ll guide the development of key capabilities, including ongoing AI enhancements. You’ll support the team throughout each sprint, providing clarification, managing scope, reviewing completed work, and contributing to retrospectives.

Alongside this, you will lead discovery, prioritisation and delivery with Engineering and UX while collaborating closely with Customer Success, Delivery and commercial stakeholders. You’ll also play a part in strengthening ways of working within the product organisation by aligning with other Product Owners, bringing structure where needed, and contributing to a mature, collaborative team culture.

What makes you the ideal Senior Product Owner?

• At least 7 years’ experience as an Product Owner, IT Business Analyst or Project Manager within B2B SaaS development,
• Strong product ownership fundamentals: proven ability to balance strategic thinking with hands-on execution,

• Technical depth in software development, APIs, integrations, and/or platform architecture,

Nice-to-have

• E-commerce or marketplace experience (major plus - you will ramp up faster),
• Experience with AI/ML product features,
• PSPO or similar Product Owner certification.
