Job summary

QuantWare seeks a Senior Process Engineer to translate quantum device research into repeatable, high-yield fabrication processes in a state-of-the-art kilofab. You will lead SAT for incoming tools, transfer processes from R&D to manufacturing, and drive PQPs with SPC and DOE for yield optimization.

You will collaborate across R&D, Equipment Engineering, and production to enable rapid qualification, tool qualification, and robust documentation, while contributing to cryogenic and superconducting

Qualifications

  • MSc or PhD in Physics, Materials Science, Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or related field.
  • 5-7 years of hands-on cleanroom process engineering in semiconductor fab or advanced materials fabrication.
  • Experience with at least two core process modules (PVD, CVD, ALD, etching, track, laser/e-beam writing).
  • Experience in equipment qualification or SAT activities.
  • Proficiency in statistical analysis tools (JMP, Minitab, Python/R) for DOE and SPC.
  • Strong documentation skills; able to write SOPs and qualification reports.
  • Ability to work in a Class 100/ISO 5 cleanroom environment.
  • Experience in superconducting qubit fabrication or quantum tech is a bonus.
  • Familiarity with cryogenic materials constraints is desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Lead or co-lead SAT for incoming process tools (IQ/OQ/PQ) for at least 2 modules.
  • Create SAT criteria with engineers and vendors; negotiate test conditions and sign-off.
  • Execute qualification wafer runs; analyze results and generate SAT reports.
  • Coordinate tool installation timelines with Facilities and Equipment Engineering.
  • Drive vendor support during tool bring-up and resolve open issues.
  • Own end-to-end transfer of multiple process modules from R&D to kilofab.
  • Develop PQPs and establish process windows, control limits, and acceptance criteria.
  • Establish SPC monitoring and defect classification with fab automation.
  • Drive DOE to optimize key process parameters for yield.
  • Document learnings for OCAPs and train technicians on SOPs.
  • Participate in Change Control Board and support rapid process/product introductions.
  • Build cross-functional relationships to achieve alignment and fast optimization.
