Job summary

QuantWare is seeking a Process Engineer to bridge R&D and production in a state-of-the-art fab. You will lead SAT activities for new process tools, transfer two modules from R&D to kilofab, and drive DOE-based optimizations to improve yield and throughput.

Qualifications

  • MSc or PhD in Physics, Materials Science, Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or closely related discipline.
  • 3+ years of hands-on cleanroom process engineering in a semiconductor fab or advanced materials environment.
  • Experience with at least two core process modules (PVD, CVD, ALD, etching, evaporation, dicing, track or laser/e-beam writing).
  • Experience executing or supporting equipment qualification or SAT activities.
  • Proficiency in JMP, Minitab, Python or R for DOE and SPC analysis.
  • Strong documentation skills: SOPs, process & tool specs, qualification reports.
  • Ability to work in a Class 100/ISO 5 cleanroom environment.
  • Experience in superconducting qubit fabrication or quantum tech is a bonus.

Responsibilities

  • Lead or co-lead SAT for incoming process tools and define SAT criteria with engineers and vendors.
  • Execute qualification wafer runs, analyze results and generate SAT reports.
  • Manage tool installation timelines with Facilities and Equipment Engineering.
  • Coordinate vendor support during tool bring-up and resolve open issues.
  • Own end-to-end transfer of multiple process modules from R&D to kilofab.
  • Develop and execute PQPs, establish process windows and acceptance criteria.
  • Establish and monitor SPC; perform DOE to optimize parameters for yield.
  • Document learnings and SOPs; train technicians on tool operations.
