Suitsupply in Amsterdam seeks a Principal Engineer who will design, build and ship across domains, setting engineering standards and driving AI-native ways of working. This is a senior, hands-on role with cross-team impact.

You will stay code-centric, accelerate projects, and embed standards within teams. Expect a leadership profile without direct reports, and close collaboration with Engineering Leadership.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of engineering experience with staff- or principal-level scope
• Experience across at least three domains and influencing ecosystems
• Hands-on coding across the stack and delivering code weekly

Responsibilities

• Set the standard: own cross-cutting standards backlog for domains incl. observability, monitoring, alerting, release and deployment processes, CI/CD templates and shared packages
• Stay in the code: design, prototype and build on hard cross-team problems like migrations, integrations and foundations
• Jump-start delivery: join projects needing momentum, run technical discovery and shape solutions with teams
• Embed, don't tower: work inside teams to raise the bar in place with Tech Leads and Engineering Managers
• Enforce through systems: establish tooling and guardrails to scale standards without hand-reviewing every merge
• Make us AI-native: drive agentic development as the default approach at enterprise scale
• Cover the gaps: step into teams without a Tech Lead to keep delivery on track
• Pair at the top: collaborate with Engineering Leadership on domain architecture
