Job summary

Suitsupply in Amsterdam is looking for a Principal Engineer who will design, implement and ship across domains, setting engineering standards and driving AI-native ways of working. You will split time between accelerating projects within teams and raising cross-cutting standards that all teams adopt.

You will own the cross-cutting standards backlog, drive migrations and integrations, and partner with leadership to raise the bar across the engineering organization while shipping high-quality code

Qualifications

• 10+ years of engineering experience across multiple domains.
• Staff- or principal-level scope at a strong product or tech company.
• Hands-on across the stack and shipping code weekly.
• Experience with AI-native development and enterprise-scale systems.
• Ability to explain technical concepts clearly.

Responsibilities

• Set the standard: own cross-cutting standards backlog for domains; enforce code quality and compliance in merges.
• Stay in the code: design, prototype and build on hard cross-team problems.
• Jump-start delivery: lead technical discovery and initial implementation with teams.
• Embed, don't tower: work inside teams with Tech Leads and Engineering Managers.
• Enforce through systems: automated checks and guardrails scale without hand-review of merges.
• Make us AI-native: drive agentic development across the organization.
• Cover the gaps: join teams lacking a Tech Lead to keep delivery on track.
• Pair at the top: collaborate with Engineering Leadership on domain architecture.
