Job summary

Flexport is seeking a Senior Software Engineer for the Platform SRE team in Amsterdam. You will help build and operate infrastructure powering Flexport engineering across 112 countries, focusing on reliability, observability and security.

Design and run scalable cloud infrastructure in AWS, contribute to Kubernetes and Argo deployments, and improve our CI/CD pipelines and IaC patterns. You’ll work with product teams to ship resilient services and play a key role in incident response and

Qualifications

• Production infrastructure and APIs in a cloud environment.
• AWS cloud platform hands-on experience required.
• Strong IaC skills, preferably Terraform, with safe patterns.
• Software engineering experience and ability to build automation.
• Incident response experience and blameless post-mortems.
• Proactive, ambiguous situations and problem-solving mindset.
• Security, IAM, networking and change management expertise.
• Clear, effective communication of tradeoffs.

Responsibilities

• Build and operate reliable, scalable cloud infrastructure in AWS.
• Contribute to Kubernetes, Argo, Helm, and deployment tooling.
• Improve observability with Openmetrics and Datadog.
• Follow IaC standards using Terraform.
• Support CI/CD pipelines and build tooling (Gradle, npm, Go).
• Improve incident response tooling and processes.
• Partner with product teams to ship impactful changes.
