Job summary

RTL Nederland is seeking a Platform Engineer to strengthen our scalable infrastructure and cloud-native stack. You will work with Kubernetes, ArgoCD, Argo Workflows, Argo Rollouts, Azure and the Grafana stack to build reliable, observable systems.

The role emphasizes collaboration, learning, and applying modern tooling such as Terraform, Go, Helm and Bash scripting to improve efficiency, security and reliability of platform operations.

Qualifications

• Experience with cloud providers (Azure, AWS, GCP) or similar systems.
• Familiarity with cloud-native ecosystems, containers and Kubernetes.
• Proficient with Go, Helm, Terraform and Bash scripting, with willingness to deepen skills.
• Foundational understanding of cloud security concepts and tools.
• Focus on efficiency, stability, observability, and reliability in operations.
• Ability to work collaboratively and independently on tasks.
• Enthusiasm for learning new technologies to improve infrastructure.

Responsibilities

• Assist in building and supporting infrastructure for scalable apps with high traffic.
• Collaborate to support a culture of ownership—monitor, run and secure it.
• Leverage external services as needed to solve problems.
• Support technical requests from development teams.
• Contribute to development environments using Go, Terraform, Helm and Bash.
• Develop understanding of security systems and tools.
• Participate in scaling and performance optimization efforts.
• Share knowledge through pairing, talks or external speaking.
• Work with Kubernetes, ArgoCD, Argo Workflows, Argo Rollouts, Azure, Grafana Stack, NGINX, Kong, Akamai.
