Job summary

Fidamy is building embedded insurance software and seeks a Senior Platform Engineer to advance the reliability and scalability of our production systems and cloud infrastructure, with a focus on secure data handling and fast deployments.

You will lead disaster recovery, incident response, IaC, and security enhancements, using AWS, Terraform, TypeScript, Python, and AI-driven development, with regular in-person days in Amsterdam and visa support.

Qualifications

• Robust AWS expertise and Terraform fluency (non-negotiable).
• Experience with restores, SLOs and incident response.
• Experience designing robust permission models with external authorization.
• Proficiency in TypeScript, Python, or Go; willingness to use TypeScript for tooling.
• Familiarity with AI-driven software development and coding agents.
• Proven end-to-end ownership with demonstrable results.
• Strong security mindset in money/data regulated environments; insurtech exp a plus.
• Proactive, pragmatic, and communicative in a small agile team.
• Ability to travel to Amsterdam office at least 2 days/week.

Responsibilities

• Build and own reliability and scalability of production systems and cloud infra.
• Lead backup and disaster recovery planning and testing.
• Serve as first responder to platform incidents and drive post-mortems.
• Own Infrastructure as Code, review and contribute changes.
• Maintain deployment tooling (TypeScript) for safe production releases.
• Strengthen security baseline with edge protection, auditing, scanning, and secret rotation.
• Develop and own the authorization model with external checks for people and AI agents.
• Use AI-driven development to guide coding agents and validate results.
• Influence technical roadmap and uphold engineering quality.
