Job summary

Sendcloud is seeking a Senior Platform Engineer to own infrastructure end-to-end within Foundation or Developer Platform. You will design, build, and operate AWS-based platform services, focusing on reliability, security, and scale for Europe-wide e-commerce.

The role requires hands-on experience with AWS, Kubernetes, and IaC, plus mentoring and roadmap ownership. Expect a hybrid model with a minimum of one day in the Eindhoven office.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of hands-on engineering experience with platform/infrastructure or SRE work.
• Solid AWS experience across EKS, VPC, IAM, RDS, S3 and related services.
• Production experience with Kubernetes and Helm, including RBAC and cluster operations.
• Infra-as-Code experience, preferably Terraform, with reusable modules.
• Experience building CI/CD pipelines and progressive delivery concepts.

Responsibilities

• Independently design, build, and operate platform services and infrastructure within your area.
• Make sound architectural decisions and document trade-offs via ADRs when needed.
• Apply IaC, Kubernetes, and AWS best practices to keep services reliable and secure.
• Lead at least one substantial roadmap item per planning cycle.
• Proactively identify and fix issues, including flaky pipelines and unowned resources.
• Plan and deliver work within six-week cycles and coordinate cross-team dependencies.
• Participate in on-call incidents and write blameless post-mortems.
• Mentor engineers and raise the bar for code quality and documentation.
