Senior Operations Maintenance Technician
Location: base station in Eindhoven, the Netherlands + mobile support across multiple stations
Type of employment: Full-time
Working pattern: On-site, mobile role with on-call responsibilities
We are looking for an experienced Senior Operations Maintenance Technician to join a growing mobile maintenance team supporting automated sorting and material handling systems across multiple logistics stations throughout the Netherlands.
The role will focus on preventive, corrective, and predictive maintenance, ensuring the reliability, availability, and safe operation of automated sorting systems. You will provide hands-on technical support across multiple sites while also coordinating with maintenance specialists, vendors, and service providers.
Responsibilities
- Perform preventive, corrective, and predictive maintenance on automated sorting and material handling systems
- Travel between multiple logistics stations across the Netherlands to provide on-site maintenance support
- Troubleshoot electrical, electronic, electromechanical, automation, and mechanical systems
- Maintain and troubleshoot conveyor systems and components, including bearings, shafts, rollers, and related equipment
- Execute planned maintenance activities according to schedules issued through IBM Maximo
- Identify equipment anomalies and resolve issues using established procedures and technical expertise
- Work closely with Maintenance Specialists, Senior Technicians, and Maintenance Coordinators to diagnose and resolve technical issues
- Coordinate external service providers and vendors attending site for maintenance and repair activities
- Ensure third-party maintenance activities are completed safely, correctly, and in accordance with site requirements
- Support spare parts and inventory management, including re-ordering and delivery tracking
- Record maintenance activities, breakdowns, parts usage, and technical interventions within Maximo CMMS
- Follow and document LOTO procedures, toolbox meetings, and relevant safety processes
- Provide technical advice and support to colleagues when required
- Contribute to improving maintenance processes, equipment reliability, and operational performance
- Participate in an on-call rotation to provide out-of-hours support when required
Qualifications
- 3-5 years of relevant experience in industrial maintenance, automation, material handling, or a similar technical environment
- Strong technical background in electrical, electronic, electromechanical, and mechanical systems
- Hands-on experience with conveyor systems, automated sorting equipment, or other material handling systems
- Strong troubleshooting and fault-finding capabilities across electrical and mechanical equipment
- Experience with preventive, corrective, and predictive maintenance
- Experience using CMMS systems, preferably IBM Maximo
- Experience coordinating external technicians, service providers, or vendors is an advantage
- Technical qualification (MBO or equivalent) in electrical, electronic, electromechanical, automation, or a related discipline
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
- Good planning and organizational skills
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail
- Flexible, hands-on, and service-oriented approach
- Comfortable working across multiple sites
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Willingness to participate in an on-call rotation
- Fluent in English and Dutch, both written and spoken
