Job summary

Proactive Global is seeking an experienced Facility Maintenance Specialist to coordinate maintenance across our automated logistics facilities in the Netherlands.

The role involves hands-on troubleshooting, technical leadership, and close collaboration with technicians, control room specialists, operations teams, OEMs, and external service providers to maintain reliable performance of facilities and sorting systems.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years of experience in industrial maintenance or facilities maintenance
• Strong background in electrical, electronic, electromechanical, and mechanical systems
• Hands-on experience with conveyor systems or material handling systems
• Experience with maintenance coordination and technical team leadership
• Experience managing external vendors, OEMs, or service providers
• Experience with CMMS systems, preferably IBM Maximo

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate maintenance activities across facilities, conveyors, and material handling equipment
• Coordinate maintenance preparation, execution, reporting, and follow-up on-site and remotely for other stations
• Support preventive, corrective, and predictive maintenance across electrical, electronic, electromechanical, and mechanical systems
• Provide hands-on technical support and troubleshooting as needed
• Manage spare parts, inventory, and maintenance-related purchasing and procurement
• Track maintenance activities and close-out documentation in IBM Maximo CMMS
• Coordinate OEM activities and external service providers to ensure safety and quality
• Assist in small technical projects from planning through completion
• Mentor and guide maintenance teams and ensure standards and safety procedures

Facility Maintenance Specialist

Location: Duiven & Elst, Netherlands, with potential support across other Dutch stations
Type of employment: Full-time
Working pattern: On-site, rotating 2-shift schedule (day & night), Monday-Saturday morning

We are seeking an experienced Facility Maintenance Specialist to take a leading role in coordinating maintenance activities across automated logistics facilities and material handling systems.

The position combines maintenance coordination, technical leadership, hands-on troubleshooting, facilities support, vendor management, and small project management. You will work closely with technicians, control room specialists, operations teams, OEMs, and external service providers to ensure reliable and safe performance of the site's facilities and automated sorting systems.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate maintenance activities across facilities, conveyor systems, and material handling equipment
• Coordinate maintenance preparation, execution, reporting, and follow-up both on-site and remotely for other stations
• Support preventive, corrective, and predictive maintenance activities across electrical, electronic, electromechanical, and mechanical systems
• Provide hands-on technical support and troubleshooting when required
• Support maintenance of conveyor systems and components, including bearings, shafts, rollers, and other mechanical equipment
• Monitor the performance and reliability of automated sorting systems and identify potential issues or anomalies
• Provide technical guidance and assessment to Regular and Senior Technicians and Control Room Specialists
• Assess the quality and execution of maintenance work and ensure appropriate administrative close-out in IBM Maximo
• Coordinate and manage local vendors, OEMs, and external service providers
• Coordinate OEM activities and ensure external maintenance work is completed safely, correctly, and to the required standards
• Support and supervise projects related to material handling equipment and facility systems
• Manage small technical and maintenance projects from planning through to completion
• Support facility planning and engineering activities
• Manage spare parts, inventory, and maintenance-related purchasing activities
• Raise and manage POs/PRs, process invoices, and follow up on maintenance-related procurement
• Maintain accurate maintenance records, including breakdowns, parts usage, LOTO procedures, toolbox meetings, and other technical activities
• Take ownership of maintenance reporting and coordination through IBM Maximo CMMS
• Support continuous improvement initiatives to increase equipment reliability and maintenance efficiency
• Provide technical leadership, mentoring, and guidance to maintenance teams
• Ensure compliance with relevant safety, operational, and technical standards and procedures

Qualifications

• 3-5 years of relevant experience in industrial maintenance, facilities maintenance, maintenance coordination, or a similar technical environment
• Strong technical background in electrical, electronic, electromechanical, and mechanical systems
• Hands-on experience with conveyor systems, automated sorting equipment, or material handling systems
• Experience in maintenance coordination and technical team leadership
• Previous experience managing or coordinating external vendors, OEMs, or service providers
• Experience with CMMS systems, preferably IBM Maximo
• Understanding of preventive, corrective, and predictive maintenance processes
• Experience with maintenance planning, reporting, and administration
• Experience supporting or managing small technical projects
• Good understanding of spare parts, inventory, and maintenance procurement processes
• Technical qualification (MBO or equivalent) in electrical, electronic, electromechanical, automation, mechanical engineering, or a related discipline
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
• Excellent planning and organizational skills
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills

• High level of accuracy and attention to detail
