Job summary

GEODIS is seeking a Senior Operations Manager for our Almere site to lead 2-5 Ops Managers and their teams. You will ensure inbound/outbound flows, storage, and Value Added Services, balancing quality, efficiency, cost, and employee satisfaction.

You’ll promote policy, manage budgets, strengthen client relationships, and drive improvements while meeting KPIs and SLAs. Fluent Dutch and English are required; a Certificate of Conduct may be needed.

Qualifications

• Logistics education at HBO+ level or equivalent.
• Experience with budgeting and financial management.
• Strong leadership and coaching skills.
• Fluent in Dutch and English.

Responsibilities

• Promote, monitor, and periodically evaluate operational policy as established by the Site Manager.
• Identify and formulate improvements for new logistics working methods and procedures.
• Implement guidelines after approval from the Site Manager.
• Operate within departmental budget framework and strive for set ratios.
• Weekly reporting to the Site Manager; prepare pricing proposals for VAS; contribute to budgeting and cost control.
• Manage internal and external relationships with clients and suppliers; serve as contact for operational matters.
• Deliver services per contract/SLA; set objectives and monitor processes; manage project involvement and SLAs.
• Lead, coach, and develop employees; ensure staffing and HR processes; report deviations; ensure time registration and planning.
• Maintain safety, quality and 5S; report KPI via Balanced Score Card; ensure QSE compliance.
