An innovative and rapidly growing technology company is seeking a Senior Linux Systems Engineer to join its engineering team. In this role, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining Linux-based control systems that power advanced industrial hardware platforms. You will work alongside multidisciplinary teams to build and support cutting-edge manufacturing technology.
Job Summary
As a Senior Linux Systems Engineer, you will own the Linux foundation that supports industrial systems in the field, including custom system images, print and control software stacks, and Linux/Docker-based SaaS platforms. You will drive the direction of security, reliability, scalability, and software update delivery while contributing to the day-to-day operation of critical systems.
Working closely with firmware, robotics, software, and product teams, you will also provide mentorship and technical guidance to fellow engineers.
Key Responsibilities
- Own the build, customization, and update pipeline for Linux system images deployed to field-based devices
- Design, develop, and maintain Linux-based software platforms for industrial applications
- Strengthen platform security through patch management, access control, secure update delivery, and threat mitigation
- Lead the development and operation of Linux and Docker-based SaaS environments, including deployment and monitoring
- Manage software releases and ensure smooth production deployments
- Conduct code reviews and mentor junior engineers
- Optimize software for performance, scalability, reliability, and security
- Contribute to automation, monitoring, and control systems across the software stack
- Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to deliver robust solutions
Required Skills & Experience
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field
- Minimum 4 years of software engineering experience
- Proven ability to develop simple solutions for complex technical challenges
- Strong proficiency in Python
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and modern software delivery practices
- Strong Linux systems expertise with hands-on administration and engineering experience
- Experience building and maintaining custom Linux images using tools such as Yocto, Buildroot, Debootstrap, or equivalent
- Solid understanding of Linux security, including hardening, patch management, secure boot/update mechanisms, access controls, and encryption
- Strong Docker and containerization experience
- Experience writing unit, integration, and end-to-end tests
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and evolving environment
Preferred Skills
- Experience working with industrial control systems
- Open-source contributions or relevant technical publications
- Experience supporting software deployed in industrial or manufacturing environments

Salary: €4500 - €6000 per month depending on experience
