Job summary

A leading recruitment agency is looking for an Entry Level Recruitment Consultant to join a high-performance financial tech company in Amsterdam. You will maintain Linux-based production servers, monitor system health, and assist in backup procedures. The ideal candidate has solid Linux fundamentals, experience with Bash scripting, and reliability under pressure. Responsibilities

Operate and maintain Linux-based production servers.

Our client is a high-performance financial technology company operating a real-time crypto trading platform used by professional and institutional traders worldwide. The platform processes billions of euros per day, so stability, latency and correctness are absolutely critical.

Although the company is part of a large global group, it operates fully independently, with its own infrastructure, engineering culture, and technical roadmap.

As part of the Systems Engineering team, you will work directly with people who design, build and run the platform.

This is an environment where:

What will you do?

Operate and maintain Linux-based production servers (mostly Debian and RHEL)
Work daily in the Linux shell and Bash to investigate, fix and automate things
Monitor system health, performance and availability
Help with patching, upgrades, user management and system maintenance
Assist with backup and disaster-recovery procedures
Troubleshoot incidents together with senior engineers
Maintain system documentation and runbooks
Help automate repetitive work using Bash and configuration tools (e.g. Puppet)

Who are you?

1+ year of experience with solid Linux fundamentals (filesystems, processes, networking, permissions, systemd, etc.)
Comfortable working from the command line
Ability to write or understand Bash scripts
You have used Linux outside of work or school (home server, VPS, Raspberry Pi, homelab, etc.)
You enjoy figuring out how systems really work
You are reliable, calm under pressure, and able to follow procedures
