Job summary

Picnic seeks a Senior Software Engineer (Java) to own backend features for our Warehouse Systems. You’ll work on end-to-end delivery, from concept to production, in a scaleup culture focused on reliability and impact.

You’ll bring 5+ years of Java backend experience, expertise with Spring, and familiarity with AI tooling to enable agentic engineering in our logistics platform. Amsterdam-based with some onsite presence expected.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in CS/AI/IT or related field.
• 5+ years of professional Java backend experience.
• Experience with AI tooling and agentic engineering.
• English proficiency; Dutch not required.
• Willingness to relocate to the Netherlands or based in the Netherlands.

Responsibilities

• Own and deliver backend features for warehouse automation.
• Collaborate across teams to ensure scalable, secure solutions.
• Design, develop, test, and iterate features in Java/Spring tech stack.
• Improve performance and reliability of warehouse systems.
