Job summary

Picnic is seeking a Senior Software Engineer (Java) to empower Warehouse Automation. You’ll work on systems handling inbound items, conveyor flows, and deliveries, building scalable, secure features in a scaleup culture.

You’ll own project priorities, deadlines and deliverables, collaborating across teams to optimize warehouse operations. You will leverage Java 21/Spring, Kafka, RabbitMQ, Kubernetes, and AWS to drive efficient, reliable software in a high-volume warehouse environment.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Computer Science or related field.
• 5+ years of professional Java backend experience.
• Strong command of English; Dutch not required.
• Experience with AI tooling and agentic engineering.

Responsibilities

• Own projects from concept to delivery, aligning technical solutions with business goals.
• Tackle problems with technology while keeping users in mind.
