Job summary

Finance Appointments is seeking a Senior Investment Accountant for its Amsterdam-based finance function. You will manage accounting, control and reporting for complex investment activities, collaborating with international deal teams and stakeholders to ensure accurate, timely information and process improvements.

Key requirements include a 4+ years background in accounting, knowledge of US GAAP and IFRS, and proactivity in driving efficiency. A start date in early 2027 is anticipated.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's in Accounting, Finance, Economics or related field.
• Professional qualification such as RA, ACCA, CPA or equivalent is preferred.
• Minimum 4 years of relevant accounting experience.
• Experience within financial services, asset management, private equity, fund administration or public accounting is advantageous.
• Good understanding of US GAAP and IFRS.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and validate investment transactions, quarterly valuations and other investment-related information within the portfolio accounting system.
• Ensure the completeness, accuracy and integrity of investment accounting records and financial information.
• Review and validate transactions and accounting entries in line with the team's four-eye principle.
• Perform analyses and control checks to ensure the correct accounting treatment of investment activities.
• Support investment professionals throughout the investment lifecycle, including deal closings, portfolio monitoring and reporting activities.
• Provide financial information, analysis and ad-hoc support to investment teams across multiple international offices.
• Liaise with internal stakeholders, external auditors and other third parties by providing accurate financial information and documentation.
• Act as process owner for designated investment accounting processes, ensuring timely and accurate execution.
• Drive process improvements and contribute to operational excellence initiatives.
• Support and coach junior team members within the Investment Accounting team.

About the Role

To support the continued growth of its Amsterdam-based finance function, we are seeking a Senior Investment Accountant. As a Senior Investment Accountant, you will play a key role in the accounting, control and reporting of complex investment activities. Working closely with investment professionals/ deal teams and stakeholders across multiple international offices, you will help ensure the accuracy, integrity and timely delivery of investment accounting information while contributing to process improvements and operational excellence.

Interviews client and expected start date early 2027.

Pay range and compensation package

Base salary is EUR 70,000-. which is based on relevant working experience. In general, the discretionary bonus will depend on individual, fund/team and firm performance. For guidance, a seasoned Senior Accountant will be eligible for ~ EUR 10,000 bonus for a full year.
