Job summary

EMEA Recruitment in Amsterdam is partnering with an established international investment business to appoint a Portfolio Finance Manager. The role focuses on analysing investment performance, improving visibility of financial results and supporting commercial and investment decisions.

You will refine how financial data is collected, analyzed and presented, driving efficiency, automation and smarter data use.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics or a related discipline.
• Around 10+ years’ relevant finance experience in finance roles such as FP&A, Portfolio Finance or Investment analysis.
• Exposure to Private Equity or investment management environments is advantageous.
• Strong analytical skills with ability to explain the commercial story behind financial results.
• Experience with budgeting, forecasting, cash flow analysis and financial modelling.
• Advanced Excel skills and an interest in data, reporting and automation.
• Experience with Power BI or similar reporting tools would be beneficial.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills with senior finance and investment professionals.
• Proactive, hands-on approach with curiosity to improve information.

Responsibilities

We are delighted to be working with an established international investment business to recruit a Portfolio Finance Manager for their team in Amsterdam.

This is a broad finance role with significant exposure to senior stakeholders and investment professionals.

The successful candidate will use financial and operational information to improve visibility of business performance, identify trends and support commercial and investment-related decision-making.

Alongside the analytical element of the position, you will have the opportunity to improve how financial information is collected, analyzed and presented, with a strong focus on efficiency, automation and the effective use of data.

Key responsibilities of the Portfolio Finance Manager:

Candidate requirements:

• Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics or a related discipline
• Around 10+ years’ relevant finance experience, ideally gained within Business Control, FP&A, Financial Analysis, Portfolio Finance or a comparable position
• Exposure to Private Equity, Investment Management or another investment-led environment would be advantageous
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to understand the commercial story behind financial results
• Experience with budgeting, forecasting, cash flow analysis and financial modelling
• Advanced Excel skills and an interest in reporting, data and automation
• Experience with Power BI or similar reporting tools would be beneficial
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the confidence to work with senior finance and investment professionals
• A proactive and hands-on approach with the curiosity to challenge information and identify opportunities for improvement
