Job summary

Arcadis is seeking a Lead Engineer High Voltage to provide technical leadership for HV projects (110–380 kV), including substations and grids. You will guide design, manage risks, and maintain client relationships across the project lifecycle.

You will lead cross-functional teams, review engineering deliverables, and contribute to proposals while mentoring engineers to uphold technical excellence. Dutch language skills are preferred for local interactions within the Netherlands.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Energy Technology, or related discipline.
• 5+ years' experience in high-voltage engineering projects.
• Experience leading work packages, teams or technical disciplines.
• Experience with TSOs/DSOs, EPC contractors, or utility organisations.
• Strong communication and English proficiency; Dutch preferred for local interactions.

Responsibilities

• Lead the technical delivery of HV infrastructure projects, including substations and transmission lines (110–380 kV).
• Act as the technical authority, providing engineering guidance and key decisions.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary teams and ensure timely delivery of milestones.
• Review and approve calculations, specifications and single-line diagrams.
• Manage technical risks and design changes across project interfaces.
• Serve as primary technical contact for clients, grid operators, and suppliers.
• Support project managers with planning, budgeting, and execution.
• Contribute to proposals, tenders, and business development with technical input.
• Coach and develop engineers to promote technical excellence.
